John is a native of small village in Oughtmama, in the heart of the Burren county
During this time john was always consumed with a desire to return home and try and develop a walking product on his family farm. In October 2002 he returned home and completed his degree in Irish heritage in the GMIT Galway. Through the process of his final year dissertation he researched the viability of setting up Burren Wild Tours. The idea was to utilise the land that his family have been on for the last 150 years, but in a different way then farming. The summer of 2003 saw john take his first steps in to the tourist industry. Burren Wild offers a unique product that introduces visitors to the Burren’s magical landscape, culture and people. John has most recently produced a DVD entitled the landscape and people of "I feel that Burren Wild’s responsibility is to the development of a local product that has a positive influence on the community, the natural environment, rural economics, and the consumer. A product that develops rural economics in balanced with the community and natural environment” |
